1838 Entire Letter Charlestown USA to Greenock, Scotland sent per Steamer Great Western leaving New York 20th April to Bristol with two line BRISTOL / SHIP LETTER in black on obverse, various chargemarks, various filing folds. The Great Western steamer left Bristol on 8th April 1838 arriving in New York on 15th April. This cover was on the first outward bound mail from New York and only took half the time sailing ships would make to cross the Atlantic. Scarce.

1931 (June 10) Vaduz - Lausanne Flight - Postcard (Zeppelin flying through the mountains) Vaduz Liechtenstein to Geneva flown by Zeppelin June 1931. Bearing 1F Zepp tied red flight cachet and rare VADUZ / C / 10.VI.31 cds alongside (adds 15% premium) and Lausanne 10.VI.31 cds applied over printed airmail etiquette. Handstamped Sieger in magenta on obverse. Sieger 110Da. Sieger €4312 (€3750 + 15% premium).

1970-73 Chay Blyth's Solo non stop around the world East to West special illustrated cover carried on British Steel Yacht and signed, arrival mark of 6th Aug 1971, then further carried on 1973 round the world race with 3p tied special 8th Sept cancel for the Whitbread race. Only a few dozen known to have been carried on the dual trip.
