1915 Battle of the Falkland Islands: Postcard to London carried without stamps affixed and two line violet handstamp (incorrect spelling) RECEVIED FROM H M SHIPS / NO CHARGE TO BE RAISED (15 Nov), ON ACTIVE SERVICE & CENSORED single line violet h/s, from an Engineering Commander on HMS Macedonia which arrived on 7th Dec at Port Stanley to defend the Islands from the German fleet. The Macedonia was sunk in the ensuing chase and battle. Rare military card.

For over 60 years Grytviken was a whaling station where thousands of whales were processed for their oil and by products.
