Official Mail: OHMS three covers addressed to the Ministry of Supply Adelphi London from Johannesburg two with official stamps ovptd affixed 6d, or 5½d as 1d strip of 5 & ½d, tied local cds and each cacheted TECHNICAL LIASON OFFICER / DEFENCE / ESCOM HOUSE. One addr to Director of Tank supply. Faults but nice trio.
Unmounted mint collection of blocks and strips mainly with imprints or sheet markings for S. Africa 1979-1988, homelands including SWA 1981-3, Transkei, Bophuthatswana, Venda & Ciskei all 1981-1985 all in multi u/m blocks of 4 or strips etc, huge quantity well over 1500+.
1931 20s lake and blue-green Epupa Falls fine used d/r cds. SG 85.
1931 Commercial frankings on several pieces incl 2/6 pair (3), 1/3 block of 4. SG 81/82.
1961 Registered 5c turquoise Flamingo unused long postal stationery envelope, very fine.
Attractive group of mainly GV/GVI covers including 1928 6d orange tree on Rail Post cvr tied oval ARIAMS cancel, 1931 triangle tied on airmail cvr by FLUGPOST d/r h/s, GV ½d green wrapper unused, 1937 Coronation set in pairs on four large covers (4 sets), 1954 set to 10s on airmail cover. Nice group (9).
Officials: 1929 (July) Dark blue printed OHMS registered cover Windhoek to UK bearing 2d pair (right marginal) showing no stop after official variety and two 1d pairs each tied d/r WINDHOEK cds cancels. A little roughly opening and hinge marks on reverse but striking official use rate x 15 on cover. SG O6/7a. Huge cat value.
SPECIMEN Overprint on EDVII ½d on 1d red surcharge single card. Sound.
1913-1964 Mint and used assembly on exercise leaves with better throughout incl 1924 Admiral heads duplicated used values incl 2s, 2/6 (2), 5s (Cat £500), approx. 270.
1922 (Circa) Postcard of Cocoa Pods bearing 1d red Admiral tied BULAWAYO CDS to Pietermaritzburg. Mainly fine.
